Befriend Your Anger

Sometimes things happen that we don’t like or want and we feel angry. You can wiggle your anger into clarity and calm by doing some physical activities from the Wiggle Jar! Just scroll down to start your practice.

Your Wiggle Warrior® Practice:

First, pound your chest like a gorilla and count down from 10.

(Really, try it!)

Next, do 12 jumping jacks to move some of the anger up and out.

(Or bounce your body 12 times)

Next, stomp your feet (or hands) as hard as you can for 10 seconds, to squash some of your anger into the ground.

Next, put your hands on your forehead and go, "UGGHHHHH!"

Next, create an invisible bubble of safety all around you.

And then to finish, take 5 deep breaths to shrink your anger to the size of a jellybean.

(Turn on the sound and press play.)

Now ask yourself, “What am I angry about? Did someone do something that I didn’t like? Did something happen that wasn’t fair?”

You have every right to your own thoughts and your own space. If someone hasn’t respected that, it’s time to speak up.

Before you do, wiggle out your energy for as long as you need. This way, it'll be easier to use your words, not your fists.

It’s okay to feel angry.

Anger is here to help you get clear on your boundaries, to speak up, and to calmly make a change.
