What's A Sunshine Friend?
A “Sunshine Friend” is someone who makes you feel warm in your heart, like there’s sunshine inside. They practice making “sunshine choices” — choices that are respectful, responsible, and kind.
The Sunshine Friend Challenge introduces one friendship skill each day during your morning meeting, for two weeks, giving students simple opportunities to notice the good, include others, listen with care, and become someone others can trust.

Last year, we asked educators what friendship challenges they were seeing in their classrooms and what kind of support they wished existed. The response was enlightening.
Teachers told us they wanted a program that was:
- Short enough to fit into busy schedules
