Dear Look for the Good Project,

On behalf of our school and the Shell Shine Student Leadership Club, I am writing to share the success of our recent Look for the Good campaign, which ran from May 15 to May 29, 2026. Thanks to your vision and the generous $550 grant and schoolwide program materials your organization provided, we successfully activated a wave of gratitude and mindfulness across our entire student body of nearly 480 students.

Our implementation followed a deliberate "Learn and Teach" framework, which empowered our student leaders to truly own the campaign and drive positive change from within.

Before taking the campaign schoolwide, our Shell Shine student leaders built their own foundational mindfulness habits. They conducted "Nature Space Scans," practiced intentional breathing exercises, and wrote unedited "You Matter" letters to local community members to strengthen their own appreciation framework.

We officially launched the two-week challenge with a student-led kickoff assembly. From there, youth leaders delivered daily morning gratitude announcements and distributed physical "You Matter" cards to their peers.

The physical components of your kit were helpful to provide anchors in our school environment. The bright orange decals were placed in high-traffic zones, prompting students to pause and reflect. Additionally, our students contributed to our "Look for the Good" bridge bulletin board with anonymous sticky-note gratitude reflections, turning it into a beautiful visual centerpiece for the school.

When our student leaders took full ownership of the program's daily logistics, morning announcements, and signage, teachers were able to easily integrate the campaign into their morning routines without feeling overwhelmed during testing season.

Your grant provided far more than just physical resources; it gave our student leaders a genuine platform to drive a meaningful, community-focused campaign. Thank you for your support in helping us build our "gratitude muscle" and ensuring that every member of our school community feels as though they truly BELONG. We look forward to keeping this positive momentum going in future years!

Sincerely,

Megan Bishop, LCSW

Student Spotlight
Zoe Schwab

When Zoe first participated in one of our programs, she was just 11 years old. Like thousands of other students, she discovered something powerful: She could make a difference through kindness, gratitude, and service. She was so successful at it, that she was invited to talk about it on TV. That experience left a lasting impression. Zoe continued volunteering for our organization throughout middle school, high school, and college — and and now, as a 22 year old, she is pursuing a master's in social work so she can turn her passion into a career!
