School Climate Roadmap

Creating a positive school culture doesn't happen in a single day. It happens through small, consistent experiences that help students build healthier relationships. That's why our programs are designed to build off each other throughout the school year.

Step 1 - Friendship Skills

September - November

Healthy school communities begin with healthy friendships. During morning meetings, students teach each other skills that help their classroom become a place where everyone feels welcomed, respected, and supported. Through short daily videos, leadership activities, and kindness dares, students practice including others, listening with care, resolving conflict, respecting boundaries, and becoming someone their classmates can trust.

During this two week, school-wide Look for the Good® campaign, student leaders take ownership of their school culture by leading morning announcements, distributing "You Matter" cards, installing "Gratitude Spots", and helping classmates notice the good in themselves, one another, and their community.

Winter can be a challenging time for students and teachers alike. Wiggle Warrior® Classroom helps students make kind choices — even on stressful days. Through Wiggle Warrior® Week, students learn simple movement-based strategies to calm their nervous systems. As students learn to name and regulate their emotions, they become better able to practice the friendship skills they developed earlier in the year.

Program Experiences Can Last A Lifetime

When Zoe first participated in one of our programs, she was just 11 years old. Like thousands of other students, she discovered something powerful: She could make a difference through kindness, gratitude, and service. She was so successful at it, that she was invited to talk about it on TV. That experience left a lasting impression. Zoe continued volunteering for our organization throughout middle school, high school, and college — and and now, as a 22 year old, she is pursuing a master's in social work so she can turn her passion into a career!
